Our Story

summit-jaguar emerged from a simple observation: too many visitors to Australia experience its landscapes without understanding the human stories that shaped them. Founded by historians and heritage professionals, we set out to create tours that reveal the depth beneath the surface.

Australia's history spans over 65,000 years of continuous indigenous culture, followed by centuries of European colonisation that transformed the continent. Both narratives are complex, sometimes uncomfortable, always fascinating. We believe visitors deserve access to authentic, informed perspectives on this heritage.

Since establishing operations in Sydney, we have expanded our network to include guides across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. Each brings specialised knowledge of their regions combined with genuine passion for historical storytelling.

Our Guiding Philosophy

Heritage tourism carries responsibilities. When sharing indigenous sites, we work directly with Traditional Owners, ensuring their stories are told by their people or with their explicit approval. Revenue from indigenous-focused tours directly supports community cultural programs.

For colonial and post-settlement history, we present balanced narratives. Australia's past includes remarkable achievements alongside darker chapters of displacement, exploitation, and hardship. Honest engagement with this complexity creates richer understanding than sanitised versions ever could.

We also recognise that historical preservation requires economic support. Every tour booking contributes to heritage site maintenance, documentation projects, and educational initiatives. Tourism done thoughtfully becomes a force for conservation.
